Guidelines for Contributors

I’m delighted that you have found this site and want to contribute. It would be really helpful if you would read through the following guidelines. They can be summarised as “Please be nice to each other”, and as with everything else on this site, they are open to discussion, but in the end this is my site, and what’s published will be my final decision.

All comments will be moderated before publication. Any which run counter to the spirit of these Guidelines might not be published and the author might be banned.

  • Please note that your Comment should not normally be anonymous.
  • Please read the full article and any comments before posting your comment: that way we can avoid unnecessary repetition.
  • Please respect other Contributors. You are welcome to offer your opinion, and to offer useful, constructive criticism, but please be courteous.
  • Please be patient. All coimments will be moderated in accordance with these Guidelines, and I can’t always do that overnight.
  • Please avoid profanity, threats, personal abuse, and advertising.
  • Please keep your comments reasonably short. If you have a lot to say, please consider writing a guest blog post: let me have your ideas or your draft via email or via the Contact Page.
  • Links: If you include a link in your comment, please be aware that your comment might not be approved for posting. Relevant links that contribute to the conversation need to be approved. Obvious attempts to promote your business, gain backlinks, traffic, or other types of self-promotion will not be approved.
  • Copyright matters: Under UK law, the original author of a blog comment owns the copyright to it. Copyright is automatic upon creation, while the blog owner only retains the copyright to the main blog post and the overall site layout. However, by submitting a comment to this blog, you grant me, the site owner, an implied license to publish and display it on site.
  • I do not accept any responsibility, legal or otherwise, for the content of your Comments.
  • If I receive authentic notice that a comment is in violation of anyone’s copyrighted information, the comment will be deleted and the commenter may be blocked from posting comments in the future.
